TradersWeb Logo How Our Newsletter Differs From Other Reference Sources

Thedetailed stock data that is made available to all subscribers on this website and updated regularly (usually weekly prior to the opening of the market on Mondays) provides an investment service that is distinctly different from others with which we are familiar. It has been custom developed to be of value to both individual investors and professional members of the investment community, including brokers, trustees, and advisors who manage investment funds.

Most newsletters and other more comprehensive investment services, such as The Value Line and Standard & Poor's, provide commentary on the economy, market trend, individual stocks, etc. We do this also in relatively concise form. Some provide short lists of recommended stocks. Others provide extensive data on many stocks. We combine the best characteristics of both approaches supplemented by a few of our own innovations. Major distinctions are as follows:
  • We evaluate a universe containing thousands of stocks and select about 250 which have good earnings and dividend growth consistency and the capital gains potential desired for investment candidates.
  • These are divided into three distinct investment categories: Income; Growth with modest income; Growth with little or no income.
  • Extensive data are provided on these stocks in this website.
  • Every stock is rated using about a dozen important evaluation criteria, including price trend, analysts' recommendations, and profit potential.
  • Information is summarized from dozens of respected Wall Street sources.
  • Stocks appearing to offer the best investment potential, and those which should be avoided, are flagged for special attention.
  • Every stock receiving a favorable flag has considerable support from recognized and respected analysts and/or reference sources.
  • All components, including the stock database, are regularly updated on this website--usually weekly; more often when conditions change rapidly.
  • Finally, this entire service is available at a price which is among the lowest in the industry.
Thus we monitor a large stock universe, select only those having satisfactory long term records for our lists, divide them into three useful categories, and evaluate every stock for current investment desirability. Further details are provided in the following discussion.

  • Stocks appearing to offer unusual investment potential are flagged for special attention.Flagged stocks have out-performed the DJIA on a month-to-month basis by more than 3:1 since 8/1/96.  The database of stocks in the growth areas advanced about 27.5% in 2003 without consideration of the flagging system.  Flagged stocks advanced more rapidly on average, although exact figures have not been computed.
  • Stocks that should be avoided for the present are so designated.

Further Description of Newsletter Service Features
An expanded description of newsletter features which make our unique investment service a valuable source of information for anyone involved in making investment decisions is presented in the following.
  • All stocks listed are considered to be of investment quality--i.e. they have displayed at least several years of generally increasing earnings and/or dividends, and the consensus of major analysts expects them to produce higher earnings and/or dividends in the future.
  • Stocks listed are divided into three categories: Income (80); Growth with modest income(80); Growth with little or no dividend income (240). Approximate numbers of stocks in each category are in parentheses.
  • The following data and performance evaluation items are considered for every stock listed: The most significant of these are available in the sorted lists presented on the website.  Financial strength, estimated next fiscal year earnings, predicted 5 year earnings growth rate, latest 12 mo. earnings, div. percentage, price change in the latest reporting period, PE and a nominal (fair value) PE, recent price trend, long term earnings growth pattern, consensus of analysts recommendations, industry rank for projected earnings growth, potential profit advantage over 5 years relative to a 5 year treasury security, a master indicator which essentially reduces all of these evaluations to a single penalty function number, and a flagging system which indicates stocks that look particularly appealing for investment and those that should be avoided, at least for the present.
  • Data presented are obtained from widely respected investment community sources. Examples include Investor's Business Daily, Value Line, Standard & Poor's, Zacks Analyst Watch, and many others which provide pertinent information.
  • This information is computer processed to clearly indicate those stocks appearing to offer the best investment potential at any given time.
  • No stock flagged for special attention is rated a sell by any of the major services we follow, and each one has at least a satisfactory rating with respect to all critical evaluation criteria such as price pattern, potential profit advantage over a 5 year treasury security, etc.
  • Growth area stocks flagged for special attention have produced month to month gains exceeding those of the DJIA by roughly a factor of 3:1 during the bullish 1990's.
  • Fundamental and technical comments are updated regularly on this website--usually weekly, but more often when conditions change rapidly.
  • The stock database is available to subscribers on this website. It is updated regularly, information is easily accessed, and the database can be sorted using any of about a dozen performance criteria.
